Drug Info

A DRUG can be defined as any substance taken to modify, change, or heal something within the body. There are both legal and illegal drugs. Prescription drugs have medicinal value and are legally prescribed by doctors. Street drugs have no medicinal value and can only be purchased illegally. For the purposes of addiction rehabilitation, make no mistake, alcohol is also considered a drug, and one of the most dangerous. Regardless of the type of drug, many are physically addictive and all share the potential to be psychologically addictive. Drugs can be classified and put into groups according to the effects produced on the brain.

drug rehab highlights
alternative sentencing
We have seen, in recent years, an enormous change in how addicts and alcoholics who become involved in the criminal justice system are regarded.
Our judges no longer want to lock away addicts and alcoholics. Judges and prosecutors want substance abusers to stop using. If addicts and alcoholics stop using drugs and alcohol the criminal behavior will stop.
Where the advantage to the substance abuse victim is in this paradigm change is that now there is and alternative to jail or prison. That alternative is drug or alcohol rehabilitation prior to
sentencing. DARS counselers and its facilities are familiar with the criminal justice system and how to navigate what appears to be an endlessroad nowhere.
